From Atlanta, JM Jewelry is a jewelry & accessories designer with a focus on creating unique pieces of wearable items. JM Jewelry got in touch with us to overcome a series of challenges, such as having difficulty positioning in high enough positions within search engines. In order to solve this, we created an unique name to represent the brand, followed by a visual identity that projects prestige and cleanliness.

About the Name

In the original brand identity JM Jewelry employed the use of several icons as part of the brand. These were the moon, sun flowers, and many others. The use of the moon was paramount to the entire identity, for this reason we wanted to keep this motif in a way that was not as obvious.

To achieve this, we took to other languages and different combinations of words in order to create a name that was unique while still retaining meaning.

From the Swedish language we used the words for Moon and Hypnotized: Måne & Hypnotiserad and thus Måneserad was born.

Creating the Logo

The logomark of Måneserad revolves around four simple elements.

The first element is the iconic "Å". An element so foreign to the English language that it gives a sense of luxury and prestige. In the negative space formed by the "Å", a waxing crescent moon rises. Surrounding these two elements, a halo hugs the shape of the moon, much like the moon halos that can be observed during particular weather conditions. Lastly, the counter (the enclosed space within a letter) of the letter "Å" is shaped after the sunflower seed.

Wordmark & Typography

Måneserad's new brand identity focuses on minimalistic design that evocates the ephemeral and luxurious feelings associated with the fashion and jewelry industries. To maintain this look and feel in the wordmark we used a typeface that is minimalistic, clean, and slender.
